Quick answer
Do Bangladeshis need a visa for Thailand?
Yes. Bangladeshi passport holders apply online for a Thailand e-Visa. Processing usually takes 7–10 working days. Official fees come to about ৳4,500 per person. You can stay for up to 60 days. The visa is valid for 90 days. In Dhaka, you apply at Royal Thai Embassy, Dhaka.
What changed recently?
- Thailand replaced its 60-day visa exemption with 30-day and 15-day lists and cut visa on arrival to three countries. Bangladesh is on neither list, so Bangladeshis still need a visa.
- The embassy stopped accepting e-statements: bank statements and solvency letters must be originals signed by bank officials.
- New visa fees in taka: tourist visa BDT 4,500 (was about BDT 4,000), METV BDT 22,500, transit BDT 3,600. Eastern Bank added as a second payment bank.
- The Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) became mandatory for every foreign arrival, including children.
- Thai e-Visa launched for applicants in Bangladesh; the visa centres stopped taking paper applications.

How do I apply for a Thailand visa?
- 1
Create an account on thaievisa.go.th
Register with your email address. The activation email arrives within 30 minutes. You must be outside Thailand when you apply.
- 2
Fill in the application
Choose Bangladesh as the country that issued your passport and your purpose of visit; the system picks the visa type. Enter your personal and travel details exactly as in your passport.
- 3
Upload your documents
Scan every document on the checklist clearly, including the bank statement, solvency letter and translations.
- 4
Pay the fee at the bank
Download the Payment Information Summary (PIS) and pay the exact amount in taka through Commercial Bank of Ceylon or Eastern Bank, between 9 am and 12 pm on embassy working days. Split or wrong payments are rejected and the fee isn't refunded. Upload the payment proof.
- 5
Wait for the embassy's decision
The Royal Thai Embassy in Dhaka reviews the file. It may email you for more documents or call you for an interview, so check your inbox and spam folder.
- 6
Print the e-Visa and fill in the TDAC before you fly
The approved e-Visa comes by email; print it for the airline and immigration. Within 3 days before arrival, fill in the free Thailand Digital Arrival Card at tdac.immigration.go.th, and carry at least THB 20,000 per person (or the same in another currency).

Why are Thailand visa applications refused?
Fake or doubtful documents
What helps: The embassy verifies documents and rejects or cancels visas over fake papers, including ones supplied by agencies. Submit only genuine documents in your own name.
E-statement or unsigned bank papers
What helps: Get the original statement and solvency letter from your branch, signed and sealed by bank officials.
Unconfirmed hotel booking
What helps: Book a hotel that confirms directly, or through a well-known platform, for every night of the stay.
Expired trade licence or out-of-date certificates
What helps: Renew the trade licence before applying and use recent sponsorship letters and certificates.
Wrong or split fee payment
What helps: Pay the exact amount on the Payment Information Summary in one payment. A wrong payment isn't refunded.
Hospital appointment not booked directly
What helps: For treatment, get the appointment letter straight from the Thai hospital, not through a middleman.
What else do people ask about the Thailand visa?
No. Bangladesh is not on Thailand's visa-exemption or visa-on-arrival lists, including the new lists that started on 15 September 2026. Ordinary passport holders must get an e-Visa at thaievisa.go.th before they fly, and airlines check for it at check-in in Dhaka.
At least BDT 60,000 per person, or BDT 120,000 for a family, shown on a 6-month bank statement with a solvency letter. The statement should show regular transactions rather than a recent lump-sum deposit. Bring originals signed by the bank: the embassy no longer accepts e-statements.
Usually 7 to 10 working days after you pay the fee. The embassy works Sunday to Thursday, so Fridays, Saturdays and public holidays don't count. It can take longer if the embassy asks for more documents, so apply at least two weeks before your flight, and earlier before Eid and winter holidays.
No. You can apply yourself at thaievisa.go.th, and the embassy encourages it. An agency helps when you want your documents checked before paying the non-refundable fee, need translations and notarisation arranged, or are applying for a family. Whoever helps, the documents must be genuine and in your own name.
Thai immigration can ask tourist visa holders to show THB 20,000 per person or THB 40,000 per family, in cash or the same amount in another currency such as US dollars. Children under 12 are exempt. Remember Bangladesh's own limit on carrying foreign currency when you leave, and use an international card for the rest.
The Thailand Digital Arrival Card replaced the paper arrival form on 1 May 2025. Every foreign traveller, children included, fills it in free at tdac.immigration.go.th within 3 days before arriving. Ignore websites that charge for it. Passengers transiting without passing immigration don't need one.
Yes, you can submit a new e-Visa application and pay the fee again, since fees aren't refunded. First fix the cause: most refusals from Dhaka come from e-statements or unsigned bank papers, unconfirmed hotel bookings, expired trade licences or doubtful documents. A new application with the same file usually gets the same result.
No. Only the embassy, high commission or immigration authority decides whether a visa is granted, so no agency can honestly guarantee it. What we do is make sure your application is complete, consistent and matches the official checklist, which removes the most common reasons for refusal. Be wary of anyone who promises a guaranteed visa for an extra payment.
Yes. Send us the refusal letter and the documents you submitted. We look at the reason the embassy gave, such as weak financial proof, an unclear travel purpose or missing papers, and fix that before you apply again. Reapplying with the same file usually brings the same result. Tell the embassy about the earlier refusal whenever the form asks: hiding it can lead to a longer ban.
