How do I apply for a India visa?
- 1
Fill in the online form
Complete the application on the official Indian visa website for Bangladesh (indianvisa-bangladesh.nic.in) and print it.
- 2
Get an IVAC time slot
Since 1 July 2026, IVAC assigns the next available time slot automatically. Slots are free: the High Commission warns that anyone selling slots by phone or social media is a fraud.
- 3
Submit at the IVAC in person
Arrive at the time on your confirmation with the original passport and documents, and pay the BDT 1,500 processing fee. The High Commission doesn't accept applications directly or by email.
- 4
Track and collect
Track the application online and collect your passport from the same IVAC, usually 5–10 working days later.
- 5
Travel through the ports on your visa
Use the land ports or airports named on the visa. At Benapole, the Bangladesh travel tax for land crossings is BDT 1,000.

Why are India visa applications refused?
Fake dollar endorsement or bank statement
What helps: The High Commission rejects these immediately. Get the endorsement from your own bank; money changer endorsements aren't accepted.
Expired endorsement or old utility bill
What helps: Keep the endorsement under 3 months old and the bill under 6 months old on the day you submit.
Hospital not recognised for medical visas
What helps: The appointment must come from a government, ICMR, NABH, MCI or CGHS-recognised hospital, backed by your Bangladeshi doctor's reports.
Old passports not submitted
What helps: Bring every previous passport; the High Commission asks for them.
What else do people ask about the India visa?
Yes. India reopened tourist visa applications on 28 June 2026 at the IVACs in Dhaka, Chattogram, Rajshahi, Khulna and Sylhet, after issuing mainly medical and emergency visas since August 2024. Slots are limited and assigned automatically, so apply early; medical visas are still processed alongside.
India charges Bangladeshis no visa fee. You pay only IVAC's processing fee of BDT 1,500, all-inclusive, since 10 August 2025. The High Commission says no other payment is needed for slots or faster processing, and anyone asking for more is committing fraud.
USD 200 per applicant, endorsed on the passport by a bank, not a money changer, and no older than 3 months. Instead of the endorsement you can show a 6-month bank statement with enough balance, or an international credit or travel card with its statement.
The standard documents plus your Bangladeshi doctor's reports and an appointment letter from an Indian hospital recognised by the government, ICMR, NABH, MCI or CGHS. Up to 3 attendants can apply with you on medical attendant visas. You must be treated only at the hospital named on the visa.
The High Commission says 5–10 working days depending on the visa type, counted after you submit at the IVAC. Getting a slot can add time, since slots are assigned automatically by each centre's daily capacity.
Bangladesh charges a travel tax of BDT 1,000 at land ports such as Benapole, raised from BDT 500 in 2023. A small port service fee is charged separately. Travel only through the land ports or airports named on your Indian visa.
No. Only the embassy, high commission or immigration authority decides whether a visa is granted, so no agency can honestly guarantee it. What we do is make sure your application is complete, consistent and matches the official checklist, which removes the most common reasons for refusal. Be wary of anyone who promises a guaranteed visa for an extra payment.
Yes. Send us the refusal letter and the documents you submitted. We look at the reason the embassy gave, such as weak financial proof, an unclear travel purpose or missing papers, and fix that before you apply again. Reapplying with the same file usually brings the same result. Tell the embassy about the earlier refusal whenever the form asks: hiding it can lead to a longer ban.
