High Commission of Malaysia, Dhaka
House 19, Road 6, Baridhara Diplomatic Enclave, Dhaka
Tourist visas are applied for online; you don't visit the High Commission. Open Sunday–Thursday, 8:30 am–4:30 pm (lunch 12:30–1:30). Visa enquiries: +880 2 4108 1918, dhaka@imi.gov.my.
Why are Malaysia visa applications refused?
Blurred or wrong-size uploads
What helps: Use a studio photo in the exact size and scan documents in colour at a readable resolution.
No reply to a document or interview request
What helps: Check your email and the portal every day after applying; after 5 days the application is rejected automatically.
Weak proof of funds
What helps: Show a 6-month statement with regular income, not a recent lump-sum deposit. Immigration at Kuala Lumpur airport has refused entry to Bangladeshis for insufficient funds.
Missing or fake hotel booking
What helps: Book and pay for a real hotel for every night. Travellers have been turned back at the airport over fake bookings.
Unclear purpose of travel
What helps: Explain the trip in the cover letter and make sure the ticket, hotel and leave dates all match.
What else do people ask about the Malaysia visa?
No. Ordinary Bangladeshi passport holders must have an eVISA before they fly, and eNTRI is only for Indian and Chinese citizens. Only Bangladeshi diplomatic and official passports can visit visa-free, for up to 30 days. Apply at malaysiavisa.imi.gov.my.
About BDT 3,100: a RM20 visa fee (about BDT 600) plus a RM105 eVISA processing charge (about BDT 2,500), paid online by card, with a 0.8% card charge on top. The exact taka amount depends on your card's exchange rate. Nothing is refunded if the visa is refused.
Usually 2 to 7 working days after you pay and submit a complete application. Weekends, Malaysian holidays and any time spent answering a document or interview request don't count. The eVISA rules say to apply at least 14 days before travel; the High Commission in Dhaka advises 30 days, which is safer.
Malaysia doesn't publish a minimum amount. The balance should comfortably cover your flight, hotel and daily costs for the trip, backed by a 6-month statement with regular transactions and a solvency letter. A sudden large deposit before applying raises questions, both for the eVISA and at the airport.
An eVISA doesn't guarantee entry: the immigration officer decides. Travellers have been refused entry for not having enough money, no real hotel booking, a fake booking or an unclear reason for the trip. Carry your printed eVISA, return ticket, paid hotel booking, bank statement and enough cash or an international card.
Yes. The eVISA portal encourages applying yourself at malaysiavisa.imi.gov.my, the only official site. An agency helps when you want your documents and cover letter checked before paying the non-refundable fee, or are applying for a family. Never pay anyone who promises a guaranteed visa or supplies hotel bookings you won't use.
The Malaysia Digital Arrival Card is a free online form every foreign visitor fills in before arriving, at imigresen-online.imi.gov.my/mdac. Submit it within the 3 days before your arrival date and keep the confirmation email on your phone for immigration.
No. Only the embassy, high commission or immigration authority decides whether a visa is granted, so no agency can honestly guarantee it. What we do is make sure your application is complete, consistent and matches the official checklist, which removes the most common reasons for refusal. Be wary of anyone who promises a guaranteed visa for an extra payment.
Yes. Send us the refusal letter and the documents you submitted. We look at the reason the embassy gave, such as weak financial proof, an unclear travel purpose or missing papers, and fix that before you apply again. Reapplying with the same file usually brings the same result. Tell the embassy about the earlier refusal whenever the form asks: hiding it can lead to a longer ban.
Embassy requirements can change at any time. Contact us to confirm the latest checklist before you apply.
