A 4-day, 3-night trip to Kuala Lumpur and Genting Highlands from Dhaka costs about BDT 52,000 to 80,000 per person. That covers the Malaysia eVISA, a return flight, a 3-star hotel on twin sharing, a city tour, a Genting day with the cable car and food. As with Thailand, the flight decides most of the difference between a cheap trip and an expensive one.
💡 Checked in September 2026. The eVISA fees are the official Malaysian government fees. Flight, hotel and tour prices are ranges from airline, hotel and tour sites and change every day, so use them as a guide, not a quote.
Malaysia trip cost at a glance

City tour, Genting day and SkyWay | 5,000–9,000 |
Food and local transport, 4 days | 6,000–10,000 |
Total | About 52,000–80,000 |
eVISA: about BDT 3,100 and 2–7 working days
Bangladeshis need an eVISA for Malaysia; there is no visa on arrival. The visa fee is RM20 and the eVISA processing charge is RM105, paid online by card with a small card charge on top, which comes to about BDT 3,100. Nothing is refunded if the visa is refused. Flights from Dhaka
US-Bangla, Biman, Malaysia Airlines and AirAsia connect Dhaka and Kuala Lumpur in about four hours. Return fares start around BDT 34,000 when booked early and rise sharply in December. Choose a fare with checked baggage if you plan to shop: low-cost fares often include cabin bags only.
Hotels and the tourism tax
Bukit Bintang is the easiest area to stay in: shopping, food streets and the monorail are all close. A 3-star room on twin sharing works out at BDT 1,300–3,000 per person per night. Malaysian hotels also charge foreign guests a tourism tax of RM10 per room per night, paid at check-in and usually not included in online prices.
Genting Highlands, Batu Caves and tours
- Awana SkyWay cable car: RM19 return in a standard gondola, or RM48–54 return in a glass-floor cabin.
- Batu Caves: free to enter the main temple cave; wear clothes that cover your knees.
- Genting theme parks: tickets are extra and cost more on weekends and school holidays.
- Putrajaya and the city tour: easiest with a private car for half a day, especially with children or elderly parents.
Daily spending
Kuala Lumpur is easy for Bangladeshi travellers: halal food is everywhere, from mamak restaurants to food courts. Around BDT 1,500–2,500 a day per person covers meals, water and Grab rides. The LRT, monorail and the KLIA Ekspres train are cheaper than taxis if you travel light.
What immigration checks at the airport
An eVISA doesn't guarantee entry. Immigration at KLIA has turned back Bangladeshi travellers who couldn't show enough money, a real hotel booking or a clear reason for the trip. Carry your printed eVISA, return ticket, paid hotel booking, bank statement and cash or an international card, and fill in the free Malaysia Digital Arrival Card (MDAC) before you land.
When to go for the best price
Kuala Lumpur has warm, humid weather with rain possible in any month, usually as short afternoon showers, so there is no bad season for a city trip. Genting Highlands stays cool all year. Prices follow holidays rather than weather: Dhaka–Kuala Lumpur fares climb from mid-December to early January and around the Eid holidays, and Genting's hotels and theme parks cost more on weekends and during Malaysian school holidays. If you add Langkawi or Penang, November to April is drier on the islands.
Costs people forget
- The tourism tax of RM10 per room per night at the hotel.
- A mobile data SIM or eSIM for maps and Grab.
- Theme park tickets at Genting, which tours don't include.
- Checked baggage if your fare is cabin bag only.
- Travel insurance for medical bills while abroad.
Package or plan it yourself?
If it's your first trip abroad, a package removes most of the paperwork at the airport: the hotel booking, transfers and tours are confirmed in one document. Our Kuala Lumpur & Genting 4-day package starts at BDT 21,900 without flights or BDT 57,900 with them, and includes help with the eVISA.
How to spend less
- Book flights 6–8 weeks ahead and avoid mid-December to early January.
- Visit Genting on a weekday, when theme park tickets and hotels cost less.
- Use the train from KLIA instead of a taxi if you travel light.
- Check that your fare includes checked baggage before you compare prices.
