Quick answer
Do Bangladeshis need a visa for Hong Kong?
Yes. Bangladeshi passport holders apply through the visa application centre (VFS). Processing usually takes 3–4 working days. Official fees come to about ৳3,300 per person. Stay duration: Not published as a fixed figure for Bangladeshi applicants. In Dhaka, you apply at Chinese Visa Application Service Center (CVC), Dhaka.
What changed recently?
- ImmD revised the ordinary visa/entry permit fee for its direct application channel from HKD 230 to HKD 330.
- ImmD moved several schemes (employment, mainland talents, investment, training, working holiday, dependant residence) to mandatory e-submission; the Chinese Embassy in Bangladesh no longer forwards those application types. Doesn't affect the ordinary visit visa.

How do I apply for a Hong Kong visa?
- 1
Confirm you need a visa
Check ImmD's nationality table for Bangladesh — it confirms "Visa Required" for every purpose, including transit, and that Pre-Arrival Registration doesn't apply (that scheme is limited to Indian nationals).
- 2
Choose an application route
Apply through the Chinese Visa Application Service Center in Dhaka — the practical route for most Bangladeshi applicants — or apply directly to the HKSAR Immigration Department by post or through a Hong Kong-based sponsor.
- 3
Complete the form and gather documents
Fill in ID1003A (plus ID1003B if a local sponsor is involved), and gather your passport, photo, onward/return ticket and proof of funds.
- 4
Submit and pay
Via the CVC in Dhaka: BDT 3,300 for regular service, plus BDT 2,700 for express. Direct to ImmD: HKD 330. Pay according to the route you chose.
- 5
Wait for processing
ImmD's general benchmark is about 4 weeks; the CVC Dhaka route separately quotes 3–4 working days for its own local handling step. Plan around the longer estimate.
- 6
Collect the visa before you fly
The visa/entry permit must be obtained before arrival — Hong Kong does not grant it on arrival for Bangladeshi nationals, even for airside transit.
Where do I apply in Dhaka?
Chinese Visa Application Service Center (CVC), Dhaka
3rd Floor, Praasad Trade Center, 6 Kemal Ataturk Avenue, Banani, Dhaka
Same centre used for mainland China visas; hours and address come from the CVC's general launch notice, not a Hong Kong-specific page, though the Embassy's own Hong Kong-visa page points applicants to this same channel. Open Sunday to Thursday except holidays, submission/payment 9:00 am–3:00 pm, collection 9:00 am–4:00 pm.
What else do people ask about the Hong Kong visa?
No. Bangladesh is on ImmD's "Visa Required" list, with no visa-free entry, ETA or visa-on-arrival for Bangladeshi nationals for any purpose.
No. PAR and the 14-day visa-free stay it enables are limited to Indian nationals under ImmD's own table. Bangladesh sits under a different remark, "Visa Required", and gets no benefit from PAR.
Through the Chinese Visa Application Service Center in Dhaka, the same centre used for mainland China visa applications, or by post directly to the HKSAR Immigration Department.
ImmD's direct fee is HKD 330 for an ordinary visa, since 8 September 2025. Applying via the Chinese Embassy/CVC in Dhaka is separately quoted as BDT 3,300 (regular, 4 working days) plus a BDT 2,700 express surcharge (3 working days). These are two different official figures for two different channels — no official page confirms whether or how they relate, so don't add them together.
ImmD's general benchmark is about 4 weeks. The Dhaka Embassy/CVC route separately quotes 3–4 working days for its own local processing step. Budget for the longer estimate rather than the shorter one.
No. ImmD's remark for Bangladesh explicitly requires a visa "for whatever purpose, including those who are in transit and remain on the airside" — there's no exemption for staying inside the airport between flights.
No. Only the embassy, high commission or immigration authority decides whether a visa is granted, so no agency can honestly guarantee it. What we do is make sure your application is complete, consistent and matches the official checklist, which removes the most common reasons for refusal. Be wary of anyone who promises a guaranteed visa for an extra payment.
Yes. Send us the refusal letter and the documents you submitted. We look at the reason the embassy gave, such as weak financial proof, an unclear travel purpose or missing papers, and fix that before you apply again. Reapplying with the same file usually brings the same result. Tell the embassy about the earlier refusal whenever the form asks: hiding it can lead to a longer ban.
