Travelling to Thailand from Bangladesh
Thailand is the trip most Bangladeshi travellers take first abroad, and for good reason: Bangkok is a two-and-a-half-hour nonstop flight from Dhaka, halal food is easy to find in the tourist areas, and a 3-star holiday costs less than many trips inside the region.
Most first visits pair Bangkok's shopping and Safari World with the beach at Pattaya, two hours away by road. Couples and friends who want clearer water fly on to Phuket, Phi Phi and Krabi on the Andaman coast, best from mid-November to April.
You need a Thailand e-Visa before you fly. It costs BDT 4,500 and usually takes 7–10 working days, so apply at least two weeks ahead, and a month ahead for the December holidays.

What do travellers ask about Thailand?
Yes. The flight from Dhaka is short, the e-Visa is applied for online, tourist areas are used to visitors from South Asia and halal food is easy to find. Bangkok and Pattaya together make an easy 5-day first trip, with transfers and tours arranged if you prefer not to plan every step.
Five days covers Bangkok and Pattaya comfortably. Six or seven days lets you add Phuket, Phi Phi or Krabi, which need a domestic flight or a long drive. With under a week, pick either the Bangkok side or the Andaman beaches rather than rushing both.
Pattaya is two hours from Bangkok by road, so it suits short trips and families; its best beaches are a boat ride away at Coral Island. Phuket and Krabi have clearer water, island tours and a more relaxed feel, but need a flight and are best from mid-November to April.
